The 11th of June 2021 saw the passing of Germany’s new Supply Chain Due Diligence Act, called Lieferkettensorgfaltspflichtengesetz, or LkSG for short. It’s a piece of legislation that’s leading the way in environmental, social, and governance (ESG), setting parameters of good practice in supply chains and ensuring corporations act within them.
In effect since the 1st of January 2023, the new law applies to companies with 3,000 or more employees with a registered office or branch in Germany. The mandate will be extended to organizations with more than 1,000 employees by 2024.
In this E-book we take a look at the role and impact of Germany’s Supply Chain Due Diligence Act, the wider need for better and more sustainable sourcing decisions, and why Smart Network Buying can provide the answers.
